I was wondering if anyone had the same issue I do with the "diabetic" protein shakes vs. other brands that have far more less fat, calories, sugars & carbs......Example. Pure Protein Shakes have 160 Calories/3 Grams Fat/2 Net Carbs/1 Gram Sugar/30 Grams Protein.....HOWEVER....the Glucerna Shakes made especially for Diabetics have 200 Calories/7 Grams Fat/24 Net Carbs/6 Grams Sugar/10 Grams Protein. So how is this better for you with the **** in it is much more than the one that wasn't? Help?

Hi. First think about why you want any protein shakes; what are you trying to achieve? Be aware that many peoples understanding of 'diabetic foods' is low-fat/high-carb which is why I never order diabetic food on a flight etc. So in any of these shakes do at least keep the carbs down unless you are doing an exercise burn-out where you know the carbs will be used up and not stored as fat.

Probably all got **** in, just different ratios.

And as to changing the ratio, one of the major complications of high blood sugar is kidney damage, so a reduction in protein in diabetic food makes sense.
I would probably have expected similar carbs, so it's always worth reading the label.
Then again, type 1 can inject for higher carbs, so that is a consideration on 'diabetic' food.

Make your own!!
Make mine with spinach, avocado, almond milk and add in protein powder from the Company in the photos...
I have to have smoothies or soups so need to add in protein and try to buy the most organic as I normally only eat stuff that I have made. I take the smoothies in my smoothie BPA ok container if I go out.
I make enough for 6 glasses, 2 get drunk by us on the day and the others get frozen.
I do add a banana, apple or kiwi/mango etc.
Carbs normally calculate at about 25-27 per smoothie.
However, they are a meal to me.
