hi I was diagnosed 12 months ago type 2 but have various other health problems high blood pressure medicated for 1
hubby was diagnosed 2 months ago no other health issues
my question is my levels were higher than his but he has been put straight onto metformin were I am diet control
same gp saw both wondered if anyone knew why?

Hi @belle-button welcometo the forum. Did your husband have a higher blood sugar reading on diagnosis?
 
Will your blood pressure medication give a contra-indication to Metformin? Seriously wild guess there!
 
It could be that Metformin and your blood pressure medication do not mix well and could cause further problems also if you are overweight as mentioned, a change of diet will help you to lose the extra weight and if you lose weight then your BG will come down. Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to find help and support, asking questions is a good way to begin and there is always someone around to help give answers if they can.
