I have recently purchased a new monitor so I can have one at home and one that I can take on the go.
The new monitor has been given some alarming readings compared to my old one and I am worried I have been thinking I am doing better than I thought as the pass month I had reading under 6 before food with most being under 5 and under 7 for after food with most being under 6.5 and the new monitor regularly kicks out readings of 7-8 before food and 9+ after food.
The reading that worry me are the following:
New 1.4 Vs 4.1 old
New 14.7 Vs 6.3 old
New 9.2 Vs 7.2 old
Should I just get a new monitor and replace the new one or replace both.

The old monitor is a vivacheck and the new one is a sinocare but was thinking of getting a accu chek as I see the pharmacy sell these.

The meters we get to use for home testing are not as accurate as we would like (+/-15%) it's quite normal to get different results on different meters. It's also common to get two different readings on the same meter, using a different strip on the same spot of blood.
Having said that though the readings should all fall within the same range, if your true level was 6, for example, then any meter no matter what make should give you results somewhere between 5 - 7 to comply with the +/- 15% standard
The results from your new meter seem to be way outside the accepted standard, I would not be able to trust it and would be contacting the manufacturer for a replacement or a refund.

Just got another low 2.4 and then a 0.8 with the new one so this has confirmed with me it is faulty

Which one is faulty? Have you tested either with testing solution (sorry, I forget the correct term for this)?

Getting a 0.8 whilst perfectly ok suggests a false reading don’t you think?
It definitely suggests an error but the 15% accuracy threshold is not valid at levels as low as 2.8.
I would still test both meters for accuracy at "normal" levels
