Different readings from different fingers?

I’m new to this so I apologise if this is a really silly question.

I’ve just taken a reading from my left index finger which came up at 5.6 which I felt was a little low. So I repeated it with my left middle finger and it was 6.2. I then used my left ring finger and it was 5.7!

I have a Sinocare Safe-Accu monitor. Is it something I’m doing wrong? Or is it the monitor? Or is this to be expected?

Thanks

Expected. There is a tolerance in the meters of I think 15 to 20% and anything within 1mmol is perfectly normal. I can test the same drop of blood (well the same pin prick allowed to ooze a bit more) and get readings as variable if not more so. If your “true” value is 5.8 or 5.9 none of them are far out at all.

Look for overall trends and take anything after the decimal point with a pinch of salt.
