Can anyone explain why if my bloods are 5.6 before bed they are then 9.7 in a morning and I haven't eaten all night please?

Your long acting basal insulin prob needs increasing to cover you through the night and the natural glucose producion that occurs in the body.

It is a natural rise that type 2's andtype 1's can get.. Called 'dawn phenomenen.' it is Ibelueve harder for a type 2 to manage, but am sure someone will come aling with some advice on how to lower it.

Your body has many places where energy is stored and which can be converted back to glucose, which you need for energy. Normally healthy people can go for a long time without any food. They will feel tired and cold and feel like they have no energy, but their livers keep on supplying them with glycogen by burning up fats. It will try and keep you going.
