I had retinopathy screening 4 days ago and my pupils are still dilated. I have discomfort under my eye. The testing was done by virgin care but on the NHS. I have seen a gp who suggested I saw an optician. They said my pupils were sluggish but working. I rang the hospital and got put through to the on call optomologist he said as long as my pain was not above 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 I shouldn't worry. Not feeling very reassured. Any one experience in this and what should I do. Help!

Thank you for takin time to reply I only had the tropicamide and today I have to go to work on computers. It's the heavy feeling under my eye I don.'t like. I am finding this very difficult to write as wrll cos my eyes ate nblurry and watery. Any ideas how long it might last my dad had a ca accodent on sat my mum has dementia and I really need to be there for them.

We had a thread on this a while back - someone experiencing the same, I think.

(Sorry, I can't remember what the thread was called, but you could try searching for it)

If I remember correctly, they were advised to wear sunglasses to protect the eyes, and to wait it out.
Presumably it resolved, because they didn't come back with an update... But you will get better info from the thread itself.

:)
