Disabled and diabetic

Kim, not sure what answers you want us to give. If there is a problem with your ability to inject because of ataxia, surely your doctor or diabetic nurse must be aware of it.

What have they said?

Answers please!

Hi Kim, I'm acknowledging your post because you haven't had a reply, but I'm afraid I don't know anything that will help you. As this is just a forum it's just a lot of people with experiences of diabetes, maybe someone will come along who knows something that can help you, but it's possible they won't. This isn't the kind of forum where somebody's paid to read and respond to all the posts, I'm afraid.

I would recommend contacting your healthcare provider to ask them for the support you need, and in the meantime I hope that someone who does know about your situation from first hand experience will be along soon to answer you.

If you can't administer injection because of disability such as ataxia(shaking) where is our help?

Hi

Are you or the person you are asking for affected by ataxia very badly (both hands or just one?) and would you or the person be able to use an mp3 or mobile phone type armband? My partner may be able to help you out and make you something that an armband would be able to support as he is an engineer/toolmaker..... Any chance of you leaving some more msgs on the forum if you can and then you will be able to send me a PM.. Where there's a will, there's usually a way :)

Also, having a look online and this came up http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15321007
Not sure how you could find out more about this device...... hopefully Phoenix (another poster) will be able to search further....
