Hi, one of my big toes is discoloured which I noticed as the nail polish has come off. I see a chiropodist and she says it’s quite normal due to being diabetic. Has anyone else got the same?

Yes. My 2nd toe has recently become discoloured. I am keeping an eye on it and if it doesn't improve will seek help.

I had this for quite a while on my big toenails but about three months ago I started to wear bamboo socks and the three month growth are now clear , going on this I would say that they will be clear again in a few months time which will be a first for about ten years . I would recommend the bamboo socks .

What sort of discolouration? I had some nail issues and one fixed itself, basically whacked on sofa, it damaged and grew out over a long time, the other an econsult with Dr said fungal infections and to buy some over the counter stuff

It's now about 3 months later and it is just about fully grown out. It takes a very long time!

If you are worried, can you do an online consult with your Dr? I'd be wary on the chiropodist advice as not particuarly convinced that nail damage is certain from diabetes or untreatable

How are your blood levels?
