Dizziness....

Hi, I've been getting dizzy spells for the past 6 months or so. I've had blood tests and a 24hr heart trace on. My dr said this has ruled out some things and that it is diabetes related. I just accepted this and didn't ask how/why but I am going to ask her next time I go.
I'm type 1 and had it 25yrs so not sure where this has come from but do trust my GP so interested to see how this relates to my diabetes.

A while back I posted about feeling dizzy/lightheaded? And I got myself checked out but came back all clear?? Well anyway it stopped for a while but now it has come back again! I feel like I really am going to faint sometimes...I feel asif my blood is low when it's really not and I have done the control solution on my meter and even tested on another meter! I have doctor's Friday anyway but could it be worth while going to the Opticians??????
I haven't got the option to lie down at work lol...And I have tried that a few times and it doesn't work as much! Even if I close my eyes briefly...it seems to make me worse once I open them again....I am squinting alot too lately!

Hi I know the feeling been going on for weeks and the Dr still has no idea what's going on. I seem to be squinting a lot too and feel dizzy when I'm standing up. I went to the opticians and I've got glasses but they only for use when I'm at work and looking at the computer. How is ur breathing?

Hi Nicola, This is just a thought of mine but what long lasting insulin are you using????I was in a similar situation feeling lightheaded, drugged up but I was also extremely tired/fatigued and my ability while working was affected......I'd been using levemir then switched to lantus but BAD feeling carried on until I finally got myself off these type of insulins. Look up lantus problems on the forum.

I am on the pump so I am only on Novorapid so it's not that!

ask gp to check you,i had labrynthitis which ended up with me having menieres disease

Just a hunch Nicola.......but has the dizziness worsened since going to the gym? The dizziness might be due to your neck and the spine. Ideally, you should have your upper spine and neck x rayed to make sure that the bones are not touching on something and when you turn your head in a certain direction, the dizzy feeling starts. The dizzy feeling should not be ignored as something is causing it so see GP
