Dizzy spells

ok so over the past few years, I’ve had something which I self-diagnosed as “food anxiety”.
The reason for this is that I suffered from panic and anxiety when younger, and as I overcame it over the years, I think I hung on to food as comfort.
However, over the y are I’ve realised I can’t go without food because it makes me feel as if I’m literally about to die.
My sugar readings are always below 5.5 fasted, and 90% of the time are below 4.5 fasted.
However, I’ve noticed that the low readings don’t always correspond with me feeling dizzy and severely hungry (to the point where I’m gonna pass out). Sometimes they’re around 5-6 and I feel this way, and sometimes they’re below 5 and I feel completely fine.
Can anyone give me any advice?

I had my hb1 (or whatever you call it) done and was told I’m completely fine. I had more tests done and was told I have a b12 deficiency which I’m having supplementation for, but it’s not helping tbh.

Why do you think your problems have anything to do with your blood sugars? You don't quote any numbers outside a normal non-diabetic range.
I hope you'll feel better soon!

I could understand being 4.5 or below and feeling dizzy, even for a non diabetic. However have you ruled out vertigo? In terms of the dizziness, does it feel like the room is spinning and won't stop?

4.5 shouldn't make you dizzy when non diabetic.

True I meant below 4.5 not 4.5 "or below" and she quotes 90% hers are below 4.5, that could cause dizziness if its 3.9 or less low

Don't forget even at 4.5 the meter could be out by 15% higher or lower than that

Interestingly enough, my mum is non diabetic and her blood sugars where once 4mmol/L after not eating all morning, she was listing symptoms which I have when Hypo, a couple of custard creams later and all was good :D

I sometimes get dizzy and light-headed too. At my doctor's on Friday my blood pressure tested at 80/60. Last Christmas it was 190/110. I am on high blood pressure medication. But I don't know if such a huge decrease is due to my lifestyle changes. How's your blood pressure?

Is your GP going to reduce or stop your medication? This happened to me - I kept feeling dizzy and falling over when I stood up. I lost 3.5 stone and no longer needed the medication.

Yes, I had a three-months-since-being-diagnosed-with-diabetes appointment with my doctor this past Friday. She halved my blood pressure medication. Last Christmas at a blood donor appointment I tested at 228/125 and was sent to Emergency, so I guess we don't want to go off meds just yet.

Just out of interest, do you mind telling me what BP meds you are on? My husband has been experiencing dizzy spells and I suspect his BP has lowered due to losing weight. The problem is that he has severe white coat syndrome and even gets anxious now when we try to check at home!

It could be low iron levels

I had been on Atenolthalidone since December 2017.

Just this week my doctor switched me to Telmisartan. This medication better protects the diabetic kidneys or something like that. I'm on a half dose.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
My blood pressure is fine, usually around 130/80.
When I don’t eat for a few hours, I get extremely hungry and dizzy. It feels as if someone is trying to pull my stomach outwards towards them, like ripping through my skin. As soon as I eat anything, it goes away within 5 minutes.
I’ve also been having problems breathing while exercising - I get severely out of breath with mild weight training and get super tingly and light headed. I vape, so I might try and stop to see if it helps my lungs.
I assumed it was something to do with hypo or diabetes because of how much better I feel once I eat. Although tbf, there have been times where I’ve eaten and still feel super dizzy.
I’m going back for more tests to see if I’m still deficient in b12, in which case I’d need an injection every few months. Don’t think I was deficient in iron.
I’m also having trouble urinating: severe pressure build up and a slow stream
