Hi i wondered if anyone else has had this same problem, my DSN told me to send off for dla for my 2 year old daughter and the desision came back that she only gets low rate care as they say that she shouldnt need testing in the night as veing tested in the day will keep her levels ok at night time, and they say she should be high or low in the night, but she is, she as just gone on the pump and shes either high before bed and then needs corrections and checkin every hour till it goes down, or shes going hypo in the night and needs treating for this, my DSN just cnt seem to get her basal rates or ratios right at the min, but it upset me thst they said i should b testin her in the night, but if i dint test i wudnt no if she was hypo and then i worry if its not treated she will go unconsious or fit. The other night she had dropped to 2.5 if i hadnt woke up to test i dread to think wot wud happen. My DSN as told me to appeal against the desision as she does need care in the night and they cnt say that children dnt need testing or treating at night if bg is high or low. It really confused me !!!

Appeal... You should get night allowance. It is imperative that you check at night.
Get a letter from your daughters consultant..

Thanks for your reply i was just taken aback by them saying its not nessesary to do blood sugar at night time, yet if i had not have done this she would probly have been unable to wake up as she was hypo at 1am and doesnt wake up till 7am. And they made it sound like its just me that is doin the testing for mo reason... x
