I was wondering if the longer you low carb the better blood glucose

or is it a case of what improvements you see within a few weeks - that is as good as it is going to be

does anyone know?

My opinion is that it is the latter. Diabetes does seem to be a condition which does not get better. This means that it will either not get worse .............or it will.

it's taken me 9 months of low carbing to get from diagnosis levels to regularly getting 5s and 6s.....

alas for too many people it does seem to be a one way trip and it is all downhill

all we can do is slow it down as much as we can

I am hoping that I can beat the odds, and keep improving for some time yet and completely avoid the dreaded insulin

thank you for sharing

Over a 2-year period I have got my levels down from 6s and 7s originally, to 4s and 5s by low carbing. I also take Metformin. Since my levels are now usually within the non-diabetic range, I can go no lower!

Type 2 Diabetes may or may not be a progressive disease, depending on whether you have only insulin resistance or whether your pancreas is failing. Treatment is getting better and better, and if we are diagnosed early, as I was, I think we have a very good chance of slowing any progression by maintaining tight blood glucose control through diet.

Remember that all the figures about Type 2 diabetes come from previous generations. As treatments and control improve, so should the outcomes. But we can't and shouldn't rely on other people to manage it for us. Type 2 diabetes is a condition that depends on the diabetic to manage it. We have to take control for ourselves.

Gosh! What a sermon!
