My GP removed my metformin without consulting me because of one blood result in may is this the right prceedure ?

HI. No it is not the right procedure. He is supposed to discuss your treatment with you and then you mutually agree the way forward. Obviously he is supposed to follow NICE guidelines but you should have the annual blood test done before the review so you can discuss the result at the review and agree the way forward.

thank you for that next time i am at the surgery i will remind them i was very upset by their attitude

I would just like to say I went to my surgery on Monday and the nurse I saw argued with me regarding my metformin
on Tuesday my blood sugar reading was 10.1 so I had to take the medication
Think they made an error in taking it away in the first place

What did she have to say about it then? Did you get an explanation?

Robbity

No explanation based on a low blood sugar reading taken in may which was not a true reading as I was under a lot of stress
and not eating properly they just removed my metformin
