Do i have Diabetes?

Messages

Hi all. Im Tim and im 21, So far in my life I've been in pretty much in perfect health but for the past year or so I rarely have these major shakes come over me. I know I should obviously ask my GP/Doctor about this but im too proud (Foolish I know) but I never thought anything could be wrong with me.

Sometimes when either I eat a lot or I don't eat the amount I should eat a day, I feel very shaky inside my arms, (It feels like my bones are shaking but nothing else is). I can put my hand out in front of me and its shaking like mad. I go all Hyperactive and feel like I can run for miles but feel terribly sick at the same time.

I am short sighted and don't wear my glasses as much as I should do but sometimes my vision goes very blurry and causes me to have some headaches. I get a feeling inside my gut which is painful but manageable at the same time. I automatically want to drink as much water as I can and feel like I should eat a chocolate bar or something sugary to bring me back to normal. It also makes me quite hungry, but I've never used this as a symptom as im a pig when it comes to food. I'm not over weight im 13st and 6"ft and I regularly do sports so im always active.

Is this just me over-thinking things too much or is there something there that I should take action against?

Your help would be great!

I can only state the obvious I'm afraid - go to the doctors. I had much the same aged 22, I was a sports student and always active so half the time I was ok. After a while I was drinking about 10 litres of water a day, getting tired etc. After diagnosis I felt a million Times better almost instantly...

Hi. Yes, do go to the GP. Note that you can always get a spot blood sugar check at your local pharmacy which you may want to do first if worried about a GP visit.
