Hi @Terrytiddy I've lost 20lb but have plateued since April. Need to lose 45lb more, so still work to do! Still do gym 5 times a week and mix up activities to keep interest including lots of resistance training. I have no idea what foods spike bg, so could be interesting to find out so I know what to avoid, but if I don't need a machine....yet... then that's ok as wellHi @MonkstonDave welcome mate. I would suggest getting a meter so that you can track what foods spike your blood glucose. Do you need to loose weight? What eating regime are you following? Are you looking at Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) Sorry for all the questions but they will help give members an idea of what you are looking for. I have the Codefree meter off e-bay the strips are a good price and there is a discount for quantity, @Bluetit1802 has a link to meters I'm sure she will post it for you. You are in the right place for help, advice and support, so any questions ask away.
If the answer is yes, which is the best one to buy or should I approach my GP for one?
If the answer is no, then thanks for letting me know!
The strips for this meter cost $65.00 for 100, which makes it a sensible thing to join the NDSS to get them subsidised as a T2.As to which one .............the only accurate one I ever found was the Freedom Freestyle Lite but the cost of test strips is eye watering.
