do i need to test on holiday

Hiya
I am a very new type 2 (6 weeks). My weight control nurse handed me a meter 2 weeks ago with no instructions as to frequency of testing so i am testing every other day. I am going on holiday Tues morning hoping will power will be strong as i have lost a stone so far. Anyway question do i need to test on holiday I am not on any medication and thinking i do not need to test, if i do what paperwork will i need for my lancets etc.

I would have hoped that your prescription would cover you while you are away and that you shouldn't need any more while you are on holiday. Your testing is only minimal and certainly not as frequent as we recommend newly diagnosed to do.........I would still test as often as you can manage. That way you will at least get an idea.

Are you flying by any chance to a foreign country.......if all you are carrying is lancets you could put them in your luggage. No paperwork needed for that.
