Hi first time poster so please excuse me if i sound a right twonk!
I do not have diabetes but have some symptoms that are worrying me slightly and just wondered if it might strike a chord with someone.
There is a history of tyoe 2 diabetes on my mums side but i don't know much more than that due to circumstances that are difficult. I have felt 'out of sorts' for maybe 6 months now, gradually getting worse. almost everyday now i have times where i am shaky, and feel quite detached and the room swims infront of my eyes, it is a bit scary and lasts anything up to an hour. I also have lots of recurring infections, urine, chest and fungal. Ok now heres the wierd ones my toes are numb! Only on one foot, started in my big toe and has progessed into next two! Other than this i am constantly knackered, falling asleep in the day if i sit still long enough, and times when i am really very tired get short of breath too.
I am hoping you all dont mind me intuding on your site, but any input gratefully recieved!

Thanks x

hya and welcome,
with any symptoms like that you really need to see your gp,it could be diabetes but could also be a number of things, some lloyds chemists do diabetes checks for free but u would still need to see your gp to find out whats causing this,
keep in touch and let us know what happens, good luck :D

I think you should go to the doctors ASAP ! Get tested for your blood sugar at least.(welcome to the forum BTW! :D )It's better to get checked up rather than sit at home worrying if you have diabetes.Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your quick replies!
I am going to call the dr's first thing tuesday, it's been driving me mad playing on my mind these past couple of days (typical its a bank holiday so have to wait longer :? ) feel better having got it off my chest a bit though, so thanks for reading! I'll post once i have seen the doctor :)

Its much better to know you have diabetes & take control than to live in denial. Another thread says "It isn't the end of the world."

Hi , I AM ON THIS FORUM NOT BECAUSE OF dIABETES, BUT AS WITH A COUPLE OF OTHERS FOR IRON OVERLOAD, AND I KNOW YOUR SYMPTOMS CAN BE A SIGN OF LOTS OF THINGS, BUT I HAD THOSE SYMPTOMS TOO ,IT WAS THE SHAKINESS THAT WORRIED ME, I HAD A TEST FOR ANAEMIA BUT CAME BACK TOO MUCH FERRITIN IN THE BLOOD, i HOPE BY NOW YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE YOUR GP, LET US KNOW HOW YOU GET ON,

well i finally went to the dr's today, i know it was silly to wait but i still had the hope i might miraculously improve
I am booked in for a fasting blood test so i guess i'll just have to wait and see. Great thing was the dr was really understanding and listened to everything i had to say. Really hope i can get this sorted soon as i am feeling worse day by day now
Thanks for reading, will keep you posted!
