We have a "like" button on posts to say we like a post but so many times I just want to say that is sad/not good etc. So should we have a "Sad" button on posts?

On another (hobby) forum we have like, agree, disagree, thanks, informative, support etc. All very well, but it can get a bit out of hand. Trouble with the sad/not good on a forum like this is that it can be discouraging to the receiver if they don't get the context. Better to post with some comment rather than click a button in my view.

I don't think there's any need for a sad/not good button if its for the purpose of disagreeing with what someone has said, better to put it into words or just leave well alone.

what about these?

Hi Andrew,
Receiving a "Like" is warming, receiving a "Sad" could be rather cold to some members
if it was misconstrued, especially if there were no words accompanying it, ie.......
If a member read a post that was considered offensive or whatever,
hitting the "sad" button could potentially mean...."I think it's sad you posted
such offensive words". (much as noblehead mentioned)

However, good thinking on your part, and I know what you're saying,
so, why not consider using the sad smillie........:(

Best wishes.

willie.

No you mis understand - it isnt to disagree it is to say that makes me sad not dislike

Maybe Sad isnt the right work due to the **** that is english and you all misuse it to mean dislike when that is not what it means. It isn't to call the person sad but that the article makes me feel sad

Just imagine how much disc space the server is going to use when we all start posting

I see Andrew, you could use this this smiley :( or just say how sorry and sad you feel for the member you are replying to.

Words are used out of context, I decorated my boys bedroom last week and he said it was Sick, apparently that means good/awesome now

Did you paint it yellow and orange and you just took it out of context :bag:
