Had HS for nearly 30 yearsand have been able to manage it quite well until the last year.. Diagnosed Type 2 last September. HS has escalated Blood sugar levels high 17 - 20 when HS at its worst. Doctor does not think that HS is being aggravated by diabetes and says I need to get my blood sugar levels down, which I'm desparately trying to do. Anyone suffered similar problems? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes,suffered very badly under my arms in the past, multiple courses of flucoxacillin and my symptoms only improved when I got my BG's under control although my armpits are heavily scarred and unsightly and I still get an occasional flare up with an abcess but it's definitely much better than it was.

Hi ..Yes I had it once about 10 years ago and after trying flucloxacillin which didn't work, my Doctor gave me 6 month course of Oxytetracycline which did.
I have never had it again since. Hope this helps

Yep, I have HS too and type1. Mine is always worse when my blood sugars are high for extended periods, so reducing your levels is definitely a good thing to do and obviously not just for your HS. There are loads of threads with info on the forum on ways to reduce your blood sugars and lots of people here to support you!
