I am wondering if there is a good GP practice Ainsdale to which i could direct my mother in law. She has a number of health problems, essentially metabolic syndrome by the sound of it. She had a major heart attack 20 years ago and is now either prediabetic or diabetic. I am sure she has been advised to be on low salt no cholesterol, low fat diet and will soon be advised on diet for diabetes which will probably not be low carb high fat. I came across Dr Unwin today who is based near her but not near enough for her to be in his practice, but wondered if there are other GP practices in Ainsdale who do adopt his approach.

I'm certain that Dr Unwin or our own @Southport GP (same person) would either see her or advise you to see another GP who has experience with metabolic conditions.

I would personally use the phone to try and get in touch with him or get advice from his surgery.

Or you could write to his surgery or get your mother's surgery for a referral.

Best wishes.

@Southport GP hasn't actually ever come out for high fat.
Contact him directly for advice.
