You can get yr eyes checked for damage to blood vessels caused by high bg levels at Specsaver opticians. They have the technology to do the same test that is done within clinics and for diabetics, its free of charge and the optician will do and show the results of the scan to you and discuss any damage. Its very good

Thanks for all info. Will get on the phone and start battering some ears lol. I do have an appointment at the diabetes hospital clinic, but its over 6 months apart from my diagnosis. Which i thought myself was a really long time to leave it especially as I've only had one done to date and it was sky high. I was under the impression a 3 month hba1c test was the norm.
