Does anybody else Bruise really easily?

Not sure if it is related to diabetics or not. But I bruise really easily.
Not only in injection sites. But I get huge dark bruises and I don't know where they came from. Mainly on my legs.
Does anyone else suffer with this?
 
Hi Tanny35, know a lady who had the bruise easily problem...tests showed she had low white blood cells....she eventually got better .....told to eat lots of bananas lol
 
I bruised very easily all my life but not now. I eat an avocado a day. High in potassium but not sugar like a banana. Not sure if that's what changed it but the timing matches up.
 
I had a full blood count recently so rules out any low white blood cells! But will try eating bananas and avocados thanks!
They're just unsightly - esp in summer when u want to wear dresses!
I'm at a wedding at the weekend and my bruises will ruin my dress lol!
I keep asking my partner if he secretly kicks me in the night lol

I bruise super easy, and make the same joke about my partner kicking/pinching me in the night. Once I had a fairly large dog (probably 30-40 lbs) put his front paws on my legs while sitting down and I had a paw-print shaped bruise the next day :facepalm: I've never been told there's anything wrong with my blood cells either, but my mother (non-diabetic) also bruises incredibly easily, so that is likely genetics for me.
 
Generally it's a mineral/ vitamin deficiency. Having thin skin doesn't help and I do have that but since eating the guacamole it has much improved. Get your guac on....lol
 
I bruise very easily too same situation not only at injection sites but bruises just appear. Amount of bruises I have currently is rediculous
 
I used to and realised I was on a large needle. I now use a 4mm needle and bruise less. I inject large quantities and sometimes split the injection dose in two (like 42 & 42 instead of 60 and 24) for my morning 84 units. :)
 
Wow that is a large dose! Well compared to mine it is. The most I've ever done is 22 units (of basal) and had to Reduce that eventually down to 15 as I was getting N severe hypos in the night/mornings.
If I did 84 I'd be out of it just shows how everyone is so different doesn't it!
 
It could also be a low platelet count which often results in frequent and large bruises from even the smallest of knocks.
Frequent injections in the same locations without rotation of site is also a cause.

I've been anemic for years now and bruise easily too. Last night clapped my hands for a few minutes and the ring finger is completely blue now. Doctors just do tests which show no vitamin deficiency (and I have a bruise for weeks from the needle) Hopeless really...
