Does anybody else get this?

Hey everyone,

Was unsure where would be appropriate to post this but here we go..

Does anybody else get this weird thing- where when you prick your finger for blood test two drop of blood will come out two separate holes.. one where you actually pricked your finger, another near the site but in a completely different place to where it was lanced?

This is such a trivial thing but I'm genuinely interested to see if anyone gets this. :D

Happy fridayyy

Yes occasionally, especially if I squeeze quite hard, it's a previous test hole opening because I tend to use the same couple of fingers.

That makes complete sense actually, nice one Phil. :) Maybe the impact of the prick causes sudden rush of blood to the affected area causing the pressure to break it open again.

I have enough difficulty getting one drop out let alone two!! I often have to try twice to get enough and I've sometimes given up particularly if I've already wasted a strip.

Yes, me too, this happens. The number of 'acceptable-to-me' places to prick my fingers is actually quite limited, and so old wounds open up near the latest sites. Good habits like moisturising my hands help keep the skin healthier and more supple and outweigh my very bad habit of using blunt lancets!

yeh I've had it happen to me.... and yes I think it is previous lanced spot re-opening as I use the same fingers. I try and rotate between 4 fingers, but sometimes I forget which one I last lanced.
