Hi

For most of this week i have been sick with a really bad head cold and a chesty cough. My nurse told me 2 keep an eye on my sugar levels as they will jump a little high with bein sick. I'm type 2, takin glucophage 850mg twice a day and also on low carb and excersise. My daily levels on a non sick day do be below 7 but this week they have jumped quite a bit as high as 14.1 :( I know my nurse said they would rise a bit but i didnt think this much.

Is this normal if your feeling well???

People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.
Your Bg will usually rise if you are not well.

You are still not over it yet. Give it time, and don't stick rigidly to your diet for a little while. Get back on track when you are fully recovered.

Some over the counter medications have sugar in them in some sort. Best to ask the Pharmacist first and let him/her know you are a Diabetic.

they will drop, just keep an eye on them.

If you are a Diabetic ALWAYS ask the advice of the Pharmacist.
