Does coffee affect blood sugars?

im talking about for the typical person, my blood sugars run high so I wouldn't know the difference unless I stopped drinking coffee altogether (with sweetener and sugar free creamer) and I don't want to do that unless I know it will lower them

Why don't you change to decaff and see if it makes a difference, but if your bg is running really high you need to look at your insulin doses and make some adjustments.

btw, the creamers often have glucose in the ingredients so do check.

I've always found that coffee raises my sugars when I have 2 or 3 in the morning. I think it's a combination of the milk carb value plus the caffeine stimulating my liver to release some sugar. Anyway the long and short of it is that I have to use insulin which is a price worth paying in my book :)

I use powdered non dairy creamer, which I believe has 5 g and I use two servings. I like light coffee
