Does heat cause insulin resistance? I'm baffled as to why my sugar is spiking when I'm not eating many carbohydrates

I can't seem to post a picture of my libre but I am feeling really frustrated and upset that my blood sugar just will not go down and keeps spiking.

Between 2am and 6am I went up from 10 to 15mmol. I took 3 units when I got up. I had a keto shake (7g carbs total).

I've been walking around for about 3 hours and my insulin has done nothing. I'm now at 16 and I'm starving and wondering what the hell I'm supposed to eat that isn't gonna put me into the 20s.

Brand new insulin vials last night, changing needle every injection. My bolus worked fine last night for my dinner but I just keep going up for no reason. I want to tear my hair out honestly. I'm very intolerant to heat and I absolutely hate it. Anything over 18C makes me feel sick and faint, and I'm wondering if my body is releasing loads of stress hormones.

There's a few reasons your blood sugar has risen, you might need more insulin with your food or your background insulin could be too high, it also depends on what you eat. If you eat protein, fat, or fibre before carbs this will stop blood glucose spikes. I always take insulin 20 mins before I eat (unless blood sugar is around 4 or 5-ish) this gives the insulin time to work and stops big blood glucose spikes. Also stress and illness can raise blood glucose levels. I hope this is of some help but your best speaking to your doctor or a DSN .

That was gonna be my next move but usually when I put it up by even just one unit I have loads of hypos in the mornings and barely need my bolus. have to put it back down again! It's so annoying.
Depending upon the insulin you are using, you maybe able to get a half unit pen.
All NovoNordisk insulins can use reusable Novo Echo pens which are available as half unit.
