Does it matter when I take the Glucophage?

Tomorrow I add a second dose. Currently I am taking 500mg with tea/supper. My doctor told me to start taking another pill in the morning (eventually working up to 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.)

I have been able to successfully take this med without too much problem, as I take it with a good amount of low-carb food and plenty of water. I don't eat much for breakfast, however. Do you think it would matter if I took a dose at lunch (say, around noon) and one at around 6 p.m.? or should it be spread out more than that? I will ask my doctor later this week at my appointment, but just thought I'd get the opinion of you fine folks.

Thank you!
