Hi my husband is diabetic and has been for 7 years he is insulin dependant many people have said you can apply for grants and we were wondering where to ask as we are in desperate need of a new bed as ours is ruined with his sweating n also a fridge thanx in advance

Citizens advice bureau will tell you whether you qualify for a grant you may have other problems besides diabetes Have you tried freecycle sometimes you can get furniture on there

there was the social fund and community care grant for people on benefits, i think these have now stopped or are in the process of stopping

Each local council is now running their own scheme - so the rules are different depending on where you live. It's probably worth checking out your councils website, or giving them a ring.
