As I said earlier, triggering insulin in a type 2 should make bg go lower. Maybe there is response from the liver to compensate which overshoots? I think it is more likely with finger prick testing to be contamination of the skin. My fingers still taste of garlic or chilli, even after washing.I believe thinking about food is sufficient to trigger an insulin response ... so the M&S food ads will do it as wellFor a type 1 the insulin won't be produced but the other mechanisms to prevent hypos will ... likely to lead to slight blood glucose rise.
