Does stress affect blood glucose levels? I ask because having had fbg of under 6 for past 5 days my fbg reading was over 6 today. I'd been having a horrible dream when I was wakened by a loud noise which startled me. Took my reading almost immediately and although 6.4 is a lot better than the 8s to 10s I got before starting the lchf diet I'm wondering why this happened, ate lchf and walked 3 miles yesterday.

The simple answer is yes!

Almost everything has a bearing on levels including illness or colds and flu.
Mostly only a slight rise.
Don't forget, that monitors are not exact either. Or your hands aren't as clean as they should be!

It is the overall averages of your bloods that matter and why doctors are more reliant on your hba1c levels.
You will occasionally get rogue readings as well, so sometimes test twice.

If you keep a food diary to record your readings and what you eat and drink, you can use it to discover what you can eat and what you can't. It also gives you an understanding of how you are progressing when you compare your readings in the future.

Control is the key to a better health.

Thanks for the information, I'ml new to testing so a bit too focused on the readings probably.
