I've just remembered my dream from last night, my puppy (6 months old) caught my diabetes. I had to keep him still for his jabs and was pleased he has pug in him so has extra folds to skin and doesn't feel it.....

Safe to say I'm losing the plot!

Re: Dog

Around year ago I was in the vets with my dog and a chap came in for his dog's insulin and needles, just remember the receptionist asking for £48 but don't know how long these supplies would have lasted the dog :(

Rodney doesn't like frisbees, he's more of a stick fan ;) haha

I have heard of animals having diabetes but somehow I don't believe they caught it off their owners haha

Brain does weird things in my sleep far too often!

What a great name for a pouch, Rodney :D

Be careful what you say, as someone will be along to say that DOGS can catch IT off of their owners   RRB

There's is also Tiffany, but I don't like to brag about her much as she's ugly and potentially soon to be come 3-legged..... Not attractive traits in a chihuahua haha

I love her anyway though!

Rodney, Tiffany, Coco, Heidi and Harvey. I pity any children I have later with names like that to live up to!

Maybe its a metaphor for being 'dogged' or 'hounded'by diabetes lol:smile: Hope Rodney stays healthy

My god so do I. He's the only one not falling apart so far! He does like to much on his own poop though if I haven't picked it up quick enough so maybe his issues are all in the head :D

Dont want to spoil Rodney and your fun but sticks can be very dangerous and can stick in a dogs throat and kill them. I had to retrieve a stick from my Jack Russells mouth after she had run and caught a stick, it had wedged in her mouth and was stuck in her upper jaw. I took her to the vets after removing it and was told in no uncertain terms that I should never ever throw sticks for dogs.

I now have one of those long handled cups which will hurl a tennis type ball 50/70 yards with ease. And when I dont have it with me she constantly finds sticks and lays them at my feet but I will never throw a stick for her again.

This is why we have a rubber Kong "stick" to throw. He only chases them on the garden, too easily distracted out of the house to want one! The others all prefer balls (we have one of those throwers too) or stuffed toys but Rodney is all about stick shaped things. I got worried about him chewing them and getting bits of bark lodged. The rubber ones are great though. We also has a smaller one with wheels on the end, shaped like a dumbbell. So when you throw it, it rolls even further away when it lands! Great for the likes of me who can barely throw past my feet haha
