my 8am bg levels are bugging me as they are usually 2 to 2.5 higher than the rest of the day......I dont want to back on glycazide just to get morning levels down.

my morning levels are between 7 and 9 and by lunch time I can be anything between 5 and 7 and stay that way for the rest of the day...i dont eat between 9pm and 8am except the odd coffee and cream.

any advice

Hi. Why worry too much about your morning levels? They could just be due to the overnight liver dump of glucose. We all vary and it may be that your liver is a bit over keen. If your average levels during the day are good together with a good HBa1C then I wouldn't worry.

I would have a full blood count done to see if you have a hidden infection. I was in a similar situation recently with BG having crept up and up. I was put on an antibiotic and since then my BG has dropped down.

I've also found a drop in my morning BG by reducing my carbs even further. I was previously around 60g per day, but since dropping to 30g, there's been a definite improvement.

thank Daibell , I think i just need the reassurance that i'm doing things right, so do you think morning testing is no good? shoul i leave first test to noon?
