Donating blood

I was told by a nurse that people with diabetes will be able to give blood soon. As I am a rare type I would be interested . Anyone else heard about this?

Not heard or read anything about this, as far as I'm aware we are unable to give blood but can become organ donors.

I read that we can become organ donors but thats only for scientific purporse like tests or research. I was a bit disappointed that my orangs cant be used in any other way

You can give blood if your diabetes is controlled by oral or non-insulin medication.
