Part of the problem is that probably 20% of the people use up 80% of the healthcare budget. But they pay in the same as the other 80% that don't use much. If something happens to what that 80% puts in the system "runs out of other people's money". Then they have to cut back or raise the payments. Like
@donnellysdogs said they had to chip in some of their own money. How much do you need to pay for private insurance there? $500/month? Then can you just blow off the whole NHS shuffle entirely?
