I just had a very odd experience, I am 63 year old type 2 with fairly good control (low dose Metformin) and I am also being treated for hyperthyroidism with a low dose of Carbimazol. As the aircraft descended after 2.5 hour flight from Italy I had a very strange experience of very sudden onset severe double vision, which was so bad that I couldn't walk In a straight line or even cross the road safely. The effect lasted for 16 hours and I allowed 48 hours before driving again. A visit to A&E was unhelpful as although they did a very basic eye examination they didn't check my blood glucose or thyroid hormone levels. Although I allow my diet to drift of course while in Italy I suspect I suspect the issue was related to my thyroid and T2 conditions and their respective medications. Has anybody else encountered similar symptoms.
