This is pretty much the way it went for me.. so I'm not surprised to read that this is a situation someone else may be in
However 100 to 120g carbs could still be classed as quite high in comparison to what some t2s do.
If lada you will still be producing some insulin... so short term there is no emergency.. I'd play the game for a few weeks and prove that t2 treatment isn't working then you maybe in a better position to push for more testing
I'd be tempted to get some ketostix just to make sure you are not producing ketones above normal diet levels
But age 35+, and bmi >25 they do automatically assume t2
I guess if they refuse further testing you could get a private test.. I know it costs but may be worth it to put you mind at ease
