c.15mmol/L is well into complications territory and highly toxic. In fact I’d go so far as to say a real doctor might have wanted to check for ketones in order to rule out ketoacidosis.

I thought the idea of the pilot trial of the liquid diet was to help reduce weight in those who are obese so therefore cut the risk of them progressing to diabetes not for someone who already has diabetes
