Hi there.
been type 2 for about 12 years now. Never been able to manage my eating habits and extremely poor at taking my meds. Recently been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after 22 years. (Gulf war 1990 - 91 veteran). However this does not detract from the fact that I am basically not looking after myself. Time for a change methinks.
However, since being diagnosed I have experienced a unintentional weight loss of some 6.5 stone (40 Kg). I have asked at the doctors what could be the cause only to be told that"it's because I am not controlling my diabetes". This is the answer to any ailments that I have. However I think it may be more than diabetes that has caused the weight loss. Basically I have gone from a 19.5 stone hulk to a 13 stone weakling as I have lost all my strength and muscle tone.
I accept tha poor diabetes control may contribute to the weight loss but I do not believe it is totally responsible.
Any thoughts
Pete
PS,. My first bg was 29.5.
