can anyone advise I am a new member and my partner is type one. Even though she manages very well and copes with the condition she has gone from size 12 to 14 when diagnosed about three years ago she has now dropped an all time low of 7stone 6 and we are both very worried. She eats really healthily and has just returned to work.
This is now affecting her confidence has anyone else experienced this and any advice would be great.
Thanks

Re: drastic wieght loss

a couple of things come to mind. Running high sugars for a while can cause weight loss as the body will burn the fat and muscle to compensate for the lack of insulin.
Silly question maybe but.. Is she eating enough calories. Eating healthy, great, but still needs a certain amount of calories to maintain current weight, more if she wants to gain.
Also would advise a visit to her consultant. A few other immune disorders can cause the body not to get the nutrients needed from food, tests can be carried out for this.
hope shes sorted soon.
