Hello could I ask how bad a bag of dried mango is likely to be blood sugar wise.
Between a pack of crisps or that which is worst
Thank you

Thank you

Have a look on the packet for nutritional info. It should include carbohydrate . If it is under 5g per 100g I would eat freely. Anything over 10 g per 100g I would avoid.Hello could I ask how bad a bag of dried mango is likely to be blood sugar wise.

Whether it releases in 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours it is all going into your bloodstream sooner or later and as a type 2 you really cannot deal with it.Thank you I thought that fruit was slower release so not as harmful?
It’s all so confusing isn’t it
The fat in the crisps would likely delay release of carbs into the bloodstream more than dried fruit. I wouldn’t advocate either (although potato crisps are one thing I do miss). A small bag of nuts would be a better choice.Thank you I thought that fruit was slower release so not as harmful?

Hi everybody,Sorry to OP re derailment, I posted another thread earlier
You could always test to see what effect a small amount has on your BS. I used to love dates pre T2 but have not eaten them for years however 2-3 weeks ago I picked some up and decided, for experimental purposes, to eat three last night. I tested as I was going with the following results - pre 5.9, after 1 hour 8.7, after 2 hours 8.4 and after 2.5 hours 7.5 - which I don’t consider to be too bad even though the rise at the 2 hour point was more than 2. I’ll may try again with just 2 dates to see if it’s a portion that works but I did find them very sweet so may not bother again!!Hello could I ask how bad a bag of dried mango is likely to be blood sugar wise.
