Dried fruit

We are all a little bit different and you could always do an experiment with your meter. But, personally, I avoid dried fruits at all costs. They are very bad for me and send my BG readings into the stratosphere! Come to think of it, I don't eat much non dried fruit either. Only berries and only sparingly.

I usually take raisins as the only food(100g/day) when on vacation in mountains for more than week. Injecting only lantus basal insulin and waiting for hypo to eat some raisins to raise BG. Seedles raisins contain 15g of water per 100g, grapes contain 80g per 100g, this means 100g of raisins is 530g of grapes. So if you are in mountains without any chance of resupplying food, dried fruit is a good option.

Dried fruit is worse than fresh fruit for it's high sugar content. The label should reveal that info.
