hi just wanted to ask has anyone here experienced when they have fizzy drink drink or dextrose tablets.it doesnt raise there sugar level at all iv been having this problem since my digestion problem started im gonna see the docs soon thought i would ask if anyone else had this problems?.

What drink did you have and how much? Does your BS go up later?

Do glucose tablets work for,you?

hi i v tried pepsi lemonade and other fruit drinks they never raise it one single bit if i have original lucozade like half a 500ml it raises my sugar by 2.5mmols. dextrose tablets dont work.

il describea bit more my symptoms i never literally feel hungry some weird reason which still dont understand also stomach issues with digestion and constipation all this has affected my sugar control iv been to docs they did some test said they cant find any problems and told me they can only give constipation medicine which wasn't very helpful but im still having all these other problems even when i speak to my diabetes nurse she doesn't really help much. so really dont know what else to do i will be going again next few days to see diabetic nurse again.

Have you seen a specialist in digestion issues?

At least you know Lucozade works for you so you have something. I prefer Lucozade too. With the dextrose tablets, perhaps letting them sit in your mouth crunched up will help as we can absorb a little glucose through the mouth.

I don't know what else to suggest other than seeing a gastro specialist and making sure your doctor has screened you for common conditions.

I hope your DSN visit gives you some answers.

hey yeah i did go to gastro special they saying they think it could be diabetes related but the did some test saying they carnt see anything wrong but they saying they think its diabetic related but they didn't take it further or bother helping me any more which is really annoying

Glucogel is the other thing. It tastes grim but is absorbed through the gums, so would solve your issue.

Have they suggested looking at your diet? Presuming it's not diabetes related, perhaps some changes to your diet may help your digestive system move quicker?

Have you tried Very Berry glucose juice? Doesn't taste too bad but a little viscous... Comes in 60 ml plastic bottles and exactly 15g carb... Rises bs much quicker than lucozade for me.
