Driving licence

I agree with @Ushthetaff , though none of my car insurers have ever cared about my T1, (maybe I was lucky) but you do need to tell them. The reason for the restricted driving license is that hypos at the wheel can kill not only yourself but other road users, so they need to make sure that you are hypo aware and check your bg before getting into the driver's seat.

I'm sure you do this anyway, but please please please always have plenty of glucose or equivalent with you when you are driving.

Yes, this is perfectly normal.
If diabetes is the only reason for the 3 year license, it is very easy and efficient to renew. I applied for my last one online and it arrived within a week.
As said, this has no effect on insurance.

My insurance was more bothered that I had an epilepsy diagnosis than a diabetes one :hilarious: Although neither condition affected the price and really it shouldn’t do, you can always shop around for deals though but mine was a fairly average price and has only ever gone down.
