Hi there- new to the forum but not to diabetes Type 1
Having been type 1 for over 35yrs I am appalled to find my licence has just been reduced to one year and not the three as usual until now this year has produced a change of clinic and doctor - not through choice - who demanded I increase my mean level - too well controlled!! this I did and then received my renewal form - and told of a hypo I had during my first hydrotherapy session - but not while driving!! Should I appeal? Any comments welcome :?

Hi

Yes i had my licience revoked in january 2009 because i told them i had had 3 hypos in 12 months. The year before they had reduced my renewal from 3 years to 1 year, they are very hot on it i had to send them 3 months of blood glucose readings and thats when they wrote back to tell me that they have revoked my licience, they said i can re-apply for it when i have gone 3 months without low sugars or hypos. Which for a type 1 diabetic is quiet hard to achieve.
