High blood sugars impair your reactions, slow reactions could be fatal.

There is probably some official number somewhere. I have seen 15mmol/l quoted on this forum before now. Mind you I would feel toxic with numbers like that so wouldn't even consider driving.

But should there be? I definitely feel "off" when my BGs are higher and let them fall before doing anything requiring concentration (eg driving or working with machinery)
 
Surprisingly there isn't a higher level as we have had this discussion many times before, but as we know high blood glucose levels can make the lens of the eyes swell which in turn leads to blurry vision, so I do wonder why there isn't an upper limit.
 
I often feel lethargic and sluggish when my BS is too high. I'm sure this would affect my reaction times when driving. However don't start bringing this up as it will just end up as another hoop to jump through when trying to renew your licence.
 
Thanks for all the response the reason I asked was I was 27.4 and my eyes were becoming a little blurry and thought the same as some
Of you there must be a limit as it seams a little unsafe on everyone
 
The issue with 5 to drive is to do with driving under the influence so I would defo agree with @tim2000s
