Health centre was on the phone says husband's diabetes has got worse, reeled off a lot of numbers, and told him he should start on something called "empaglizine" he says. He didn't pick her up, anybody know what this is so I can google it?

It's called Empagliflozin.. The brand name is Jardiance. I've been taking it for a few months now and it does really help to reduce BG levels along with Metformin. The main thing to watch with it though, is it can make you really dehydrated. Its primary function is to strip the body of excess sugars and these are peed out..and a lot of pee!!! It can result in regular thrush infections both in men and women due to this action.
