I have diabetic retinopathy and an epiretinal membrane. I have been a Tye p1 diabetic since 1971 and always controlled my condition well. I now have dry macular degeneration and cannot shake off my depression. Is anyone else in a similar situation and now do you cope?

Hi there. I don’t have these issues but I know how diabetic symptoms can get you down. I’m very solutions focused and so look for fixes and will try anything! Others lean on friends and family for support. Others still, find the doctor/nurse a good place to start. Begin by realising you are not alone and many of us have ‘hidden’ symptoms we deal with every day. Good luck, I hope you find something that makes you feel a bit better about things soon. Be kind to yourself and know that how you feel is completely justified but feelings don’t last forever. Hugs.
