My shin was always on the edge of bleeding - never quite getting there, but dry and cracking, and I knew that it was a short step to broken skin, ulceration, etc. And as I've already got one missing leg (although that was alcoholism rather than diabetes) it bothered me. My chiropodist, who used to be head of his department at a London hospital, saw my leg and recommended 'Neutrogena' Foot Repair Cream. Yes, FOOT repair cream! Anyway, I tried it, and it worked in about 3 days. My leg is now smooth and whole, and although there is still the tell-tale rash under the skin, the dryness and cracking has completely gone. So, worth a try to prevent legs getting worse. Allen.
