I have such dry skin on my hands at the moment obviously the cold weather doesn’t help. But does anyone else get dry and peeling skin and dots where they constantly test their blood?

Hi,
I get sore hands, I use diprobase or Aveeno.
Do you rotate your sites for finger pricking? What depth is your pen?
Take care

I get that sometimes -- I use E45 cream or aveeno hand cream

Thank you to both of you I believe my pen is on 2 and I try and rotate my sites think I may have to try aveeno as you both suggest it. Xx

Dry, peeling skin is one of the symptoms of high blood sugar. I had it for 12 months or so before diagnosis. I used to carry a small tube of handcream in my pocket, and use it every hour or so. I only found it was a symptom of diabetes when i was reading after I’d been diagnosed. I’d mentioned it to the GP a couple of times, but he hadn’t made the connection.

Dry skin runs in my family - I’m the only one who’s T1, and not a T2 amongst them. My daughter uses hard coconut oil, the kind you can buy for cooking. I tried it and it works a treat. The only downside is that it reminds me of summer holidays long gone.
