Took a trip to our town centre yesterday and noticed this big red van, I was so chuffed to see it was A DUK van come to visit our little town, how nice it was to see the ladies there, I know I'd said that our city was a little left out. Thank you DUK for coming to our small town

Excellent news Kas, hope the service gets used so that they can see that the people of Perth are in need of such a facility. Its a long-time since I was in Perth (I was actually a child) but is it really a 'little town' ?.............I seem to remember it being quite big! :?

Glad to hear that DUK are getting out an about elsewhere than London etc.......

Just a small point.......DUK are nothing to do with Diabetes.co.uk......this website. :D

Hi Nigel

Lol I was exaggerating a bit when I said little  It is beautiful here at the moment, all the flower baskets are out in the town and flower beds all over Perth with stunning flowers in no wonder we get tourists from all over the world.

Ken sorry for getting it wrong, thanks for the Subtle reminder :? I meant Diabetes.co.uk.

Yes, Perth is beatifull, but this beauty has not prevented big business from lying its guts out to take away from it,
Just after General Accident was taken over in the 80's the new management announced that they were moving jobs south of the border "to improve worker's quality of life" - Not long after, a survey revealed Perth as one of the areas with the highest qalities of life for workers!

A spot of bitterness there Mr Crawford?
Very understandable
The beloved Australian (possibly called Bob Scott?) who didn't like being in charge of a multinational company that was not based in London.
First the IT section was outsourced to IBM (I was one of them)
Then there was the merger with Commercial Union (to become CGU)
Then the merger with Norwich Union (they kept the 'Union' part of the name so the new company became Norwich Union.)
Now its a call centre.

I like Perth a lot and having lived near there for 20 years wouldn't move away.
Shame I have to work in Edinburgh
